Hello Mighty Cardinals,

Welcome to St. Matthews K-8 School, where we partner with stakeholders to do what's best for children. Our school is one of the most diverse and exceptional school villages in the state.  We strive to have a safe and inviting atmosphere that fosters growth academically, socially, and emotionally. We believe in achieving and maintaining excellence based on the premise of Teaching and Learning. We use that culture of learning to empower and prepare children to compete and succeed globally.

We work diligently to provide students with multiple paths of learning through a personalized learning concept. Our approach to students’ learning involve interdisciplinary content that fosters 21st century skills such as critical thinking, communication, and collaboration skills. Students will continue to master standard based goals through research based strategies. Children in grades K-2 will experience language through components of balanced literacy and visual learning. Students in grades K-8 will participate in STEM opportunities. The partnership with stakeholders is essential to the continuing growth and success of our students.

We strongly encourage parent participation in our volunteer programs, SIC, and the PTO.  There will be many opportunities for you to become engaged in your child’s learning experience, through project based presentations, literacy night, Muffins for Moms, Doughnuts for Dads, Grandparents’ Day, and more. At St. Matthews K-8, we believe that Cardinal Character Counts! Thus, parents will continue to have the opportunity to participate in activities at home with their children that promote character education skills.

Finally, our children's safety is important to us. We believe in establishing relationships that support all of us being able to make reports if we notice anything that is harmful to the safety of all.

The administrative team, faculty, and staff are committed to doing what's best for children!

Sincerest regards,

Ms. Treda L. Keith, Ed.S., Principal
