Biography: 

Audrey Yvonne Patterson is a native of Orangeburg, South Carolina.  She is the daughter of James and Lorrene Patterson and has three siblings, April Davis, James Patterson Jr. and Nathaniel Patterson.  She attended public schools in Orangeburg Consolidated School District Four.  She graduated from Edisto High School in 2000.  She went on to further her education at Claflin University on a full academic scholarship and she graduated in 2004 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  She became a sixth grade teacher at John Ford Middle School from 2004 to 2007. In 2007, Ms. Patterson obtained her second degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a focus on literacy from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts.  For nine years, Ms. Patterson taught 5th Grade English Language Arts at Whittaker Elementary School in Orangeburg, South Carolina.   In 2009, she earned her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Administration from South Carolina State University.  She currently is a fourth grade English Language Arts and Social Studies teacher at St. Matthews K-8 School. She truly enjoys educating and molding the youth of tomorrow in addition to working tireless in the community to help make this world a better place.

In addition to dedicating her life to education, Ms. Patterson has been a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated since 2002, she is the Youth Choir and Praise Dance Team Director at Macedonia AME Church in Cope, South Carolina, she is the Chief Operating Officer of JLP Social Media Promotions, she is a Lupus Foundation of American Support Group Facilitator, she is now an author and just released her new book, My Teacher is More Than My Teacher on October 4th, but her greatest accomplish is being a mother to her beautiful daughters, Jhayiah, Cameron and Rilee. 

Her motto is, “Dream the impossible, seek the unknown and achieve greatness.”
